Work So Far

Tutorials I am Following
I got a bit confused on the storyboard, but I will have it up ASAP. Since I am doing an animation work for my PSA I looked up basic character animation and followed along with my crude character rendering. Not very pretty but it is a start. My organization is NASP which is a society dedicated to teaching tolerance towards others- mainly focusing on teaching young kids in school tolerance. I hope to have more joints in my character, and I am not sure if I want to start with a face or just have a mouth for the one smiling shot. The overall style of the animation will be similar to this in that it will be fairly simplified, but it will not, (hopefully), be this crude and blocky.

  1. I like the moving type but I'm not a fan of the background. Is that permanent or just a test? Its too hard to read. Oh and I like your little animated figure, very cute.

    1. You mean the green logo or the black background? It was just a test. I couldn't decide on where else to put it, so I lowered the opacity and put it behind everything else. It does clash with the words, though, so I will reconsider the placement.

The way you are playing with typography is beautiful I love The first 7 seconds of your film. I think it would be more impactful and less chaotic if you had the NASP logo appear and then as it disappears bring in your last two lines of type, and bring the spacing together on the last line that reads IN school, At home.etc.
I think this would help unless you have a reason for doing it this way.
    Hope I could help!

    1. Thank you so much! I will play around with that, since i had no reason to do it the way I did. Thanks again!

  3. I really like the idea of the Don't be a Stranger text morphing to the Be a Friend but something about the animation right now feels a little off, I think I am thrown off by the overlap, maybe try seeing what it looks like if the fade out, movement and then fade in happened after one another rather than simultaneously.

  4. I like the morphing affect as well and it is a nice interpretation of the change needed to help people. The final background does make the text at the end hard to read, so my only crit would be to work on that a little

  5. My only crit would be to extend the blue out to fill the page, and also pull the grey logo out from behind the text unless you are going to drop the opacity. Nice animation so far.

  6. I'm liking the ragdoll animation style you're playing with. Looking forward to seeing some more of the animation you do.

  7. Great so far but everything that needs to be said has already been posted before me. Are you going to keep with the same aesthetic look of the rag doll through out the whole video?

  8. I like the idea of your title sequence! I think the fades should be a little quicker or maybe there could a be a little more variety with font choices and sizes? I'm excited to see your final animations as well.
